JOB SUMMARY
The Platform Engineer reports to the Sr IT Manager
This role supports daily business operations in both cloud and on-prem environments
The engineer deploys, troubleshoots, and maintains platform resources such as infrastructure, networking, and infrastructure as code
Responsibilities include application, server, database maintenance, data analysis, and creating health and monitoring reports
The individual leads and participates in projects, prioritizes work, and collaborates with the team
They work closely with the business to provide value through technology and navigate complex organizational dynamics

Essential Functions

• Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot core business applications, servers, hardware, and databases
• Install and configure required software
• Perform system maintenance, monitor system activity, analyze system statistics
• Provide after-hours support for production emergencies
• Analyze system for root cause of issues and configurations
• Maintain and enhance application and database monitoring
• Identify systems improvements, recommend upgrades and enhancements
• Document issues and resolutions using help desk ticketing system
• Offer technical mentorship and expertise to team members
• Maintain inventory of hardware, software resources, and parts
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects with IT groups
• Oversee and collaborate with vendors and business units
• Lead project activities like software rollouts, upgrades, hardware replacement
• Provide troubleshooting and support where needed
• Deliver business value through effective approaches
• Other assigned duties

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree; 8+ years related experience or equivalent
• Cloud Best Practices and experience
• AWS Certifications a plus
• Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code experience
• Boomi or similar integration platform experience
• Strong scripting/automation skills
• Container and platform experience e.g., Kubernetes
• API Management experience e.g., Apigee
• Customer service skills and ITSM ticket tool use
• Advanced TCP/IP networking knowledge and related services e.g., DNS, SMTP, DHCP
• Active Directory concepts and administration expertise
• Windows and Linux troubleshooting and management
• Programming knowledge e.g., .net, c#, powershell
• DevSecOps experience
