    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical admissions unit in an acute, fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and BLS certification.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a 15-bed Medical/Surgical admissions unit within an acute care hospital setting
    Patients are newly admitted, awaiting assignment to other units, requiring assessment and initial care
    Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
    Uses Epic EMR, Zebra phones for communication, Omnicell for medication management, and Aleris IV pumps
    Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts or , with every other weekend and holiday required
    No on-call required
    Expected to float to other medical/surgical units as needed
    Responsible for initial admission assessments and ongoing care until patients are transferred to designated units
    New, fast-paced medical/surgical department with 15 private rooms
    Navy blue scrubs required
    Every other holiday coverage required
    First time travelers are welcome to apply
    Candidates with prior employment at any Sanford Health location must disclose previous experience

    Requirements
    Active ND or compact RN license required
    Current BLS certification from AHA
    Minimum of 2 years Medical/Surgical nursing experience
    Previous Level 1 trauma center experience required
    Experience with Epic EMR required
    Must be able to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
    Cannot be considered if residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility
