What's the Job?
The Staff Accountant's role is to maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, process payroll, prepare financial and payroll-related reports, and support compliance within AirPro's accounting team.
Position Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Staff accountant with 3 years' minimum experience.
- Manufacturing accounting and payroll experience preferred.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills as well as effective interpersonal and organization skills.
- Experience working with an ERP in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently without daily supervision.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees.
- Must be very motivated to succeed no matter what the circumstances are.
- Bachelor's Degree or an Associate/Technical degree combined with significant experience over 2 years can be equivalent to a degree with consideration of total skill set.
This position is performed in an office environment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to type daily and pick up phones, as well as handle paperwork. Will be required to move around within office to accomplish job functions. May occasionally be expected to lift up to 25 lbs.
Job Duties & Skills
To be successful in this job with AirPro, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare audit summaries and present findings.
- Create budget reports and manage any assigned budget accounts.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees and ensure compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, finance and audits.
- Produce month end, quarter end, and year-end financial reports.
- Identify, recommend, and implement efficiency improvements in accounting workflows.
- Manage company assets.
- Reconcile inventory (daily) and bank accounts (monthly).
- Oversee the sales reps commission payment processes.
- Engage in accounting review processes with customers and vendors.
- Support finance team with customer and vendor maintenance.
- Complete business information inquiries from customers and vendors.
- Backup for invoicing, cash collections, and weekly payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
