- Performs preliminary ophthalmic work such as obtaining medical and ocular histories, obtaining pressures, medication reconciliation, completing an external exam.
- Performs automated and manual testing such as auto refractions, auto keratometry, corneal topography, fundus photos, ocular coherence tomography, pachymetry, tonometry, and visual fields.
- Administers topical eye drops and ointments upon written physician order or written protocol.
- Assists with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments in exam/treatment rooms including prepping patients for sterile procedures.
- Reviews patients charts prior to physician exam to anticipate procedures and supplies or equipment that may be needed.
- Prepares instruments for sterilization.
- Other additional duties as required.

Description
Accountabilties:
High School Diploma/GED
Prior clinical experience in an ophthalmic practice for at least one year
Proficiency with EMR/PM system(s)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience -Preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Individual must be patient centered and employee focused, must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task
