    Description

    Job Description: Electronics/Manufacturing Engineer

    System One is seeking an Electronics/Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Tulsa, OK. Under administrative direction of the General Manager, the Electronics/Manufacturing Engineer deals with:

    • Evaluations of manufacturing processes in a high-tech discrete manufacturing facility.
    • Develops and participates in a highly cross-functional role that balances cost-reductions, inventory reduction, process analysis and continuous improvement in a Lean and ISO standardized facility.
    • Serves as a role model for company values and culture and as a resource for internal customers on technical topics.
    • Interfaces with Operations and other facility engineering departments.
    • Serves as an electronics subject matter expert.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    In addition to various tasks assigned by the supervisor the following are basic duties and responsibilities:
    • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
    • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
    • Uses knowledge and experience with electronics (PCB's, SMT componentry) to diagnose and troubleshoot engineering and manufacturing challenges in product and capability expansion. This includes defective IC's, resistors, transistors, capacitors, etc. with and without schematics and other documentation.
    • Recognizes opportunity for modernization and semi-automation of existing manufacturing processes.
    • Spearheads technical inquiries into innovative manufacturing equipment and technologies which will benefit overall efficiency.
    • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
    • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
    • Provides manufacturing decision-making information to Operational Management by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
    • In collaboration with Operations, prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
    • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
    • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
    • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Works to facilitate change-management within the facility.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    • Experience with IR stations, BGA removal/replacement, and programming knowledge

    Credentials and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Lean Leader skill sets
    • Experience with strong process analysis and continuous improvement
    • Experience working within the requirements of ISO standards
    • Experience in ERP and other planning & costing systems
    • Experience in document control and training activities
    • Experience with PCB design, layout, and manufacturing
    Physical Requirements
    • The employee is frequently required to sit
    • Must possess sight/hearing senses to adequately perform the functions of the job
    • The employee is regularly required to verbally communicate
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
    • Vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
    • May be required to occasionally lift 25 pounds
    • Must be able to manage and handle stressful and or demanding situations.
    Working Relationship/Environment Exposure
    • Maintain relationships and open communication
    • Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited
    • Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office environment
    • No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties
    • Frequent contact with all levels of employees and management
