    JOB SUMMARYThe Shop Truck Mechanic performs diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determines the best course of action for damaged parts and systems.

    The Field Service Technician will operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations to perform high-quality field services, repair electrical issues and work on HVAC, pumps, hydraulics, engines, and transmissions.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESShop MechanicRuns diagnostics on vehiclesCompletes truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standardsRepairs malfunctioning componentsReplaces worn-out partsChanges hydraulic fluids, oil, filters, water pumps, etc.

    Drives trucks before and after and after repairsPrepares service reports and provides pertinent work order detailsField Service MechanicPerforms basic to intermediate repair, maintenance and troubleshooting offsite with little or no direct supervisionPerforms basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and failuresRemoves and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components to factory specificationsTests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operations of all repairs and adjustmentsPrepares and completes all job-related documents (writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains clear customer records) efficiently and timelyMaintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by DOTPlans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs and keeps rework to a minimumWorks safely at all times and adheres to all safety policies and company procedures (including contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations)Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicles in good, clean working condition.

    Keeps an organized, clean, and safe work areaWorks closely with Service Manager and Dispatcher and communicates job progress with manager, team, and customers as neededCompletes other duties as assigned RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESSelf-starter with strong mechanical aptitudeExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to work closely with other team members to meet company goalsAbility to perform responsibilities at customer job site with minimal supervisionAbility to operate a variety of equipment in the field and on customer job sitesAbility to communicate in a written format clearly and conciselyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAn excellent driving record is requiredA valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL is requiredPreferred experience in shop-service environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move an items or bulky objects up to 70 poundsAbility to perform the repeated motions of reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment Ability to work inside and in an outside environment with inclement weather conditions (including heat, cold, dampness, humidity, etc.)Ability to sit or stand for long periods of timeAbility to work overtime and/or Saturdays based on customer demand or as neededAbility to travel or make overnight stays on or near job sites when requiredAbility to work alone onsite and offsiteAbility to work under trucks and to climb heights (ladders, on top of diesel trucks) and balance (on top of truck, ladder, etc.)

    OTHER REQUIREMENTSMust pass a criminal background and motor vehicle checkMust pass preemployment drug test and submit to random drug testsMust maintain a valid driver's license (CDL License Class B preferred)
