    Milton Hershey School, a world-renowned private educational institution, offers a unique career path for married couples to become flex houseparents. This exceptional opportunity is designed for individuals who are passionate about nurturing and guiding students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

    Job Description

    As a flex houseparent couple, you will reside in on-campus student homes, providing a consistent family-like structure for approximately 8-12 students. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Driving students to and from school and activities
    • Administering medication as needed
    • Budgeting and managing household expenses
    • Reporting student progress and addressing any concerns

    During your initial employment, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to a specific home. You will be required to handle various tasks and provide care and guidance to the students under your supervision.

    Benefits

    Your total compensation package includes:

    • A salary of $43,825 per person (total: approx. $165,000 per couple)
    • Free housing and meals while on duty
    • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; retirement savings
    • Relocation assistance and paid training provided
    • A schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with personal time during school hours
    • Three-week paid summer vacation

    Qualifications

    To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
    • Both spouses must have been legally married for at least two years
    • Both spouses must be age 27 or older
    • No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
    • Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus policy
    • Limits on pets: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
    • Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
    • Couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited)
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students
    • Both spouses must complete an individual employment application
