Position Overview:
We're currently searching for a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our vibrant school-based team near Columbus, GA.
As an OT in a school environment, your role will involve delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services to students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional hurdles.
Your primary objective will be to assist students in developing, regaining, or enhancing their capacity to perform daily tasks, fostering greater independence and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional abilities and limitations.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, considering students' objectives, capabilities, and preferences.
Implement therapeutic interventions, such as exercises, activities, and adaptive tools, to promote functional independence and enhance quality of life.
Provide hands-on therapy and guidance to students, focusing on improving motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and range of motion.
Educate students, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and integrate therapy goals into daily life.Requirements:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current state licensure or eligibility for OT licensure.
Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, along with knowledge of various physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their effects on daily functioning.
Demonstrated experience in evaluating, planning, and executing occupational therapy interventions.Empathetic, patient, and attentive to the unique needs and difficulties of individuals receiving OT services.
