We're looking for a prep cook to join our kitchen team for Lola's Cafe/The Market at White Horse Wine and Spirits. We're looking for a friendly, passionate, and motivated person who can assist with the daily food prep needs of the kitchen. We are a small kitchen team that requires our team members to be versatile while working together to prepare food for our customers in a variety of ways. We value our team and strive to build a group of passionate professionals who enjoy working together and feel a sense of ownership in their role.

Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following but not limited to):

• Ability to carry out recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as set by company
• Assist with food preparation and working & writing the prep list (includes chopping, dicing, slicing, baking/pastry, etc.)
• Prepare orders on the line: salads, sandwiches, and specials to order according to company standards in a timely & efficient manner
• Help manage stock and inventory of kitchen goods
• Assist with daily cleaning and organizing of the kitchen
• Able to use kitchen equipment such as grill, slicer, stove, ovens, etc.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, coolers and all storage areas
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
• Establish and maintain a positive work environment
• Additional duties and projects as assigned
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least one year of professional kitchen experience preferred but we will train the right person
• Ability to work with others in a team setting and be flexible to the changing needs of the kitchen
  
• Must have a passion and appreciation for quality food
  
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently
  
• Able to follow instructions and established procedures
  
• Proactive mindset and initiative to solve problems
  
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
  
• Friendly, positive, enthusiastic attitude
• Flexible availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  

Full time and part time available. Starting at $16/hr + depending on experience, with a lot of potential for advancement and salary. You will be given a paid break and a meal for each shift. Health and dental offered. Paid time off. 401k matching program.
