NexGen is currently seeking a GIS Architect who will work closely with clients in implementing and maintaining proven IT/GIS strategies for their platform architectures, help to promote the utilization of GIS based on customer needs and business value, and support the client's strategic vision.

This position will consult with customers to understand business needs and guide them on how to best apply ESRI products/technology.

As an ESRI Solutions Architect the candidate should demonstrate a deep understanding of web-based architecture and hosting infrastructure.

This individual will be required to work closely with members of NexGen's and client's teams, including but not limited to domain experts, and technical leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: * Define best practices for deploying ArcGIS platform and design systems, including integration to non-ESRI platforms, to meet business needs.

* Supportdefining a customer's geospatial strategy to achieve business objectives. * Analyzebusiness functions and industry shifts and providefeedback. * Createinnovative solutions to accommodate unique customer needs and defineintegration patterns.

* Providementorship and guidance to other technical staff on designing, implementing, and optimizing different solutions spanning applications, data, and systems.

* Leverage experience in the implementation of Enterprise Information System (EIS) frameworks and platform architectures from requirements including IT and GIS strategies, cloud patterns, security, scalability, and licensing.

* Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Skills:
* 5+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and administrating enterprise IT-GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS enterprise platform (desktop, server, and online). * 5+ years of hands-on experience with ESRI software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Runtime, and their associated APIs or interfaces.

• Experience in platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, deployment, security, identity management frameworks, cloud, and scalability.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database and Windows Server environments.
• Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or HTML5 (modern web frameworks).
• Hands on experiencewith deployment and/or administration ofArcGIS Enterprise-based solutions in cloud environments, such asAzure.
• Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology.
• Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented architectures and cloud hybrid configurations.
• Experience designing, administering, and/or maintaining cloud environments, such as Azure, supporting 24O7 high-availability production environments.
• Knowledge of and experience with software engineering and/or robust application development principles and practices.

Desired Skills:

• ESRI Enterprise System Design Certification.
• Experience with Federal IT environments is strongly preferred.
• Additional Requirements:
• Professional excellence in technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, and deployment.
• Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideasboth verbally and in written formwhether to customers, executives, or other technical or non-technical peers.
• Must be able to get a government clearance.
• The successful candidate will be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
• US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engi eering, Mathematics, GIS, or a related field
