- Union Background:
- A temporary scientist in the Union Assay Laboratory at ECMS Corporation will be responsible for the on-time execution of analytical requests in precious metals analysis, providing direct analytical support to ECMS businesses.
- Expected to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced analytical chemistry laboratory.
- The incumbent must work well both independently and as a team member, assisting in other areas if necessary.
- They must have excellent laboratory skills, including detailed record keeping and knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Background in elemental analysis or analytical chemistry is preferred.
- Physical preparation of samples for elemental determinations (weighing, dissolution)
- Assist senior chemists and other chemists where needed (glassware prep, weighing, filtering)
- Ensuring safety and quality in the laboratory
- A.S. Chemistry or related field plus 0-3 years relevant experience, B.S. Chemistry or related field plus 0-3 years relevant experience? Hands-on experience in elemental analysis
- Ability to effectively work on diverse teams and to actively participate in collaborative efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
