Responsibilities

• Ensure existing facilities are well maintained and repaired.
• Be physically skilled and able to make all types of general building repairs with in the school facilities realm.
• Facilitate and monitor the following areas of repair: Fire Inspection Issues; exit sign light repairs; battery replacement for backup lighting; door and hardware adjustments & repair; key and key control assistance; electrical repairs, minor moves, adds, and changes, small wiring projects, & low voltage;
• Apart from that Facilitate playground maintenance athletic areas grounds repairs equipment audits building inspections safety issues repairs small landscaping projects additional items as they arise Manage Contractors General contractors plumbers electricians A/C replacements locksmiths fencing playgrounds site work v/d alarm security systems roofers etc Identify isolate larger problems meet with contractors obtain bids Supervise manage Facilities Maintenance Coordinators Day Porters any other hourly employees assigned supervision area maintenance technicians assigned schools groups location monitoring time materials scheduling tracking maintenance related issues repairs direct oversight special project analysis decisions track report status open projects provide historical data analyzing trends track time mileage materials tools oversight special projects facilitate troubleshoot ongoing construction maintenance issues schools building services create estimates schedules timelines new existing project deliverables create build preventative maintenance processes monitoring systems extended life facility related components maintain monitor building compliance Building Codes Standards local city county state federal agencies travel within outside state participate successfully training programs increase individual skill proficiency assignments review current developments literature technical sources information job responsibility ensure adherence OSHA maximum safety procedures perform duties delegated Assistant Director Projects Facilties follow federal state laws company policies Assistant Director Projects Facilties assess effectiveness annually performance specific responsibilities must carry hand-held radio times while on school property assigned by Supervisor Assigned 30-minute lunch break but time lunch period will changed accordingly schools needs All Supervisors required report assist emergency situations needed No Supervisor allowed leave campus run errands personally school permission from their Facilities Supervisor Required Qualifications Skills Knowledge construction trades facilities maintenance requirements ability understand communicate deals effectively vendors contractors Suprervisory experience leading work crews direct oversight technicians ability provide maintnance repair management multiple locations Strong knowledge experience reading understanding building plans blueprints ability perform intermediate level mathematical functions calculations Excellent administrative organizational skills expert communication writing documentation abilities Familiarity OSHA state local building fire codes inspection processes Strong time management organizational skills prioritize wisely Computer knowledge experience Microsoft Office software manage online documentation service requests utilize time material tracking programs Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred but not required Job Requirements Education minimum high school graduate continuing education construction or facilities related Experience minimum years facilities related maintnance or construction trade experience Special Qualifications Must possess above knowledge skills abilities Skills Knowledge Language Efficient English skills including writing speaking May perform other duties assigned Work Environment Responsibilities While performing responsibilities this position work environment characteristics listed below representative environment employee encounter Usual schools working conditions May be noisy during high student traffic Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative those must met by an employee successfully perform essential functions this job Reasonable accommodations may made enable individuals disabilities perform essential functions Exerting up to pounds force occasionally up pounds force frequently move objects Travel within outside state FLSA Overtime Category Job exempt overtime provisions Fair Labor Standards Act Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Management Manufacturing Industries Primary Secondary Education
