    Overview
    Maintain the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.
    Responsibilities
    • Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
    • Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
    • Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub.
    • Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
    • Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.

    • Ability to understand blueprints, charts, and repair manuals
    • Extensive understanding of how industry equipment works

    • Excellent critical thinking with the ability to come up with innovative ideas and develop a reasonable time frame for each project
    • Ability to work under pressure and still deliver desired good results within tight deadlines
    • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members

    • Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
    • Performing preventative maintenance
    • Responding to guest requests related to maintenance issues
    • Maintaining the exterior of the hotel, including landscaping, parking areas, and building exteriors
    • Addressing electrical issues, including lighting, power outlets, and other electrical components

    • Ensuring the safety and security of the hotel by maintaining fire safety systems, performing safety checks on equipment (like elevators), and addressing potential hazards
    • Addressing issues related to the building structure, including walls, ceilings, and flooring
    • Report the need for any major repairs to Director of Engineering
    • Determine the exact cause and location of any fire alarms and communicate finding with management and front desk
    • Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and helpfulness at all times
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
    • Report emergency and unusual situations immediately
    • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned bySupervisor, Manager, or Chief Complex Engineer
    Qualifications
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).
    • Long hours are sometimes required
    • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
    • Must maintain composure under pressure
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
    • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
    • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
    Experience: Two - three years experience in related field. Managerial experience preferred.
    Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.
    Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Viceroy Hotel Group standards
