    Seeking a new opportunity within a school district? ProCare Therapy proudly collaborates with an outstanding school district in Harvey, ILin search of a dedicated Occupational Therapy to join their team for the ongoing school year
    Occupational Therapy Job Description:

    • Assessment and Evaluation: School occupational therapists assess students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, visual perception, and activities of daily living to identify areas of need. They conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and interviews with students, teachers, and parents to determine students' functional abilities and barriers to participation in school activities.
    • Individualized Intervention Planning: Based on their assessments, school occupational therapists develop individualized intervention plans to address students' specific needs and goals. They design therapeutic activities and exercises to improve students' fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, handwriting skills, self-care abilities, and sensory processing skills. School occupational therapists may also recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to support students' participation in classroom activities and routines.
    • Direct Therapy Services: School occupational therapists provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups, to address their identified goals and objectives. They deliver evidence-based interventions and techniques to improve students' motor skills, sensory processing abilities, self-regulation, and independence in daily tasks. School occupational therapists also collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into students' educational plans and classroom activities.
    • Collaboration and Consultation: School occupational therapists collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. They participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education program (IEP) meetings, and student support team meetings to share assessment findings, discuss intervention strategies, and develop coordinated plans of care. School occupational therapists also provide consultation and training to teachers and staff on strategies for promoting students' motor skills, sensory processing, and participation in school activities.

    Interview Process:

    • 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
    • 20-30 minute Virtual Interview with the School District
