Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg night shift position requiring IL licensure, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital cardiovascular med/surg unit with a focus on post-operative day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
• Night shifts from 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three shifts per week
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic charting experience is required
• Care provided for cardiovascular medical and surgical patients
• No floating or on-call requirements specified
• Provide direct care to cardiovascular med/surg patients, including post-op surgical cases
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop and modify plans of care based on patient needs and continuous evaluation
• Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and upholding unit and hospital competencies
• Participate in hourly patient rounding and proactively assist both internal and external customers
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted during a 13-week contract
• Candidates cannot be on assignment at Carle Health for more than one year without a six-month break before returning
• No travel partners accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active and valid Illinois RN license; temporary licenses accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required, three years preferred
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting is required
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
