- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders, and accurately record received quantities
- Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Organize and store received materials in designated locations within the warehouse or production area
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping instructions and requirements
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch of goods
- Generate shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs, and perform regular cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies
- Assist in the resolution of shipping and receiving-related issues, such as shortages, overages, or damaged goods, in collaboration with the appropriate departments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping/receiving area, including proper storage of packing materials and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace and participate in safety training programs as required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is preferred
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including knowledge of carrier operations, packaging techniques, and shipping documentation
- Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners
- Experience in customer relations or customer service is preferred, as the role may involve interactions with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and resolving shipping-related inquiries or concerns
