    Now Hiring: Material Handler - Shipping Department (Temp to Perm)
    Pay: $20-$22/hr DOE
    Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (2nd Shift)
    Monday-Friday (Some weekends as needed)
    Job Summary
    The Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, staging, and organizing raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the production facility. This role supports fabrication, welding, painting, spray, and shipping departments by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials, maintaining inventory organization and accuracy, performing spray/paint tasks, and handling dock/shipping operations.
    This position requires:
    • Dock work, including loading trucks and balancing loads for safe transport.
    • Shipping experience, including preparing shipments, packaging, labeling, and staging.
    • Overhead crane experience, used in both Shipping and Receiving.
    • Spray department experience, including applying industrial primers, protective coatings, and performing final paint touch-ups on steel components prior to shipment.
    Responsibilities
    • Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
    • Deliver materials, components, tools, and equipment to production areas according to work orders and schedules.
    • Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming materials and shipments for quantity and quality.
    • Label, tag, and store materials in designated storage areas while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
    • Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
    • Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging, labeling, staging, and ensuring loads are balanced for safe transport.
    • Apply industrial primers, protective coatings, and perform final paint touch-ups on steel components as part of spray department tasks.
    • Follow proper lifting techniques and company safety procedures to prevent injuries and equipment damage.
    • Maintain accurate records of material movement and transactions using production tracking systems.
    • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits as required.
    • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and government regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
    • Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Promptly report any accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards to a supervisor.
    • Actively participate in all mandatory safety training, drills, and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
    • Work cooperatively with team members to achieve production goals and departmental objectives.
    • Monitor own work to ensure it meets quality specifications.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or construction environment.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous shipping and dock experience, including loading and balancing trucks.
    • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
    • Spray department experience including industrial primers, protective coatings, and final paint touch-ups.
    • Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
    • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English and/or Spanish to interpret and follow safety guidelines and work instructions.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
