    Facility:Maryland In prison Sites

    SummaryUnder general supervision and as part of a team, this position is responsible for the administration of the standard risk assessment and diagnostic testing instruments with participants. This position will be assigned specific participants, referred to as a "caseload" and monitor the service delivery for these residents while they are in the program from intake to discharge. Interviews participants, reviews files and testing score and prepares assessment reports to determine the level of care necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Administer, score, and interpret all required screening and assessment tools including but not limited to the Texas Christian University (TCU) Drug Screen, Treatment Assignment Protocol (TAP) and the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA).
    • May also use other assessment and substance abuse evaluation tools to support level of care American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) placement.
    • Conducts screenings and assessments during the intake process and back-end screenings for standing populations
    • Conducts post testing for participants as they go through the program
    • Interviews participants to collect additional data not covered by above assessment tools.
    • Reviews Division of Corrections (DOC) files.
    • Scores and interprets results of assessment and testing tools.
    • Prepares written reports based on results of assessment and testing tools.
    • Creates and maintains individual treatment plans for the participants
    • Conduct group and individual sessions
    • Maintains clinical chart per the Code of Maryland (COMAR) regulations and requirement.
    • Complete discharge and aftercare plans
    • Participate in staffing regarding participants with other team members
    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Associate degree in eahHealth and Human Services counseling field and an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) designation or.
    • Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field and Certified Associate Counselor – Drug & Alcohol (CAC-AD) certification.
    • Certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
    • Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings
    • Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with participants, other staff, and leadership personnel and react quickly and appropriately in an emergency.
    • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the Department.
    • American Psychological Association's Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing
    Working Conditions: Encountered on a regular basis as part of the work this job performs.
