Job Description:
Permanent, full-time position with Jefferson County.
Applicant will have knowledge of computer hardware, software, wireless & wired networking, active directory, Windows OS, Server Administration, and cell phone setup.
This position will interact with all aspects of IT including but not limited too; building/running cable, installing wireless access points and cameras, configuring VOIP phones, installing peripherals, ordering new equipment, support for Emergency 911 center, patching systems, and firewall configuration.
This position will report to the IT Director.Responsibilities and Requirements:
Install and configure various software programs and hardware systems
Manage network servers and technology tools
Set up accounts and workstations using Active Directory and Office365
Troubleshoot issues and outages for critical systems including 24/7 911 dispatch center
Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls. Experience with Sophos, Acronis, Ubiquiti preferred
Upgrade systems with new releases and models through WSUS server
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Build and maintain internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Maintain, support, upgrade all aspects of Information Technology
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of network system security, and data backup/recovery
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Applicant will be able to lift 50 lbs. Applicant will have a valid Montana Driver License. Applicant will have to pass a security clearance. These skills may be obtained through two years of education, experience, training, or a combination of all three.
Preference will be given to applicants that have obtained a degree or certificate in Information Technology or a related field.
