    We are seeking a detail oriented Senior Accountant to join our Columbia, Maryland finance team to work in office 3 days per week.

    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing customer invoicing and revenue, financial reporting, and other accounting functions while reporting to the Financial Controller.

    The ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting principles, be proficient in QuickBooks Online, , and Excel, and have experience in a remote work environment.


    Job Duties:
    Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

    Oversee customer invoicing and revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policy.

    Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses.

    Ensure proper maintenance of general ledger accounts, and perform account reconciliations and adjustments as needed.

    Coordinate with Financial Controller to prepare and file sales tax returns and other regulatory filings.


    Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

    Provide support for financial audits and assist in implementing audit recommendations.


    Assist the FP&A team with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities to enhance controllership and ensure the organization meets financial goals and targets.

    Identify and pursue opportunities for reducing working capital.

    Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.


    Qualification:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.

    Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a warehouse or 3PL environment.

    Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, , and Microsoft Excel.


    High proficiency in data tool sets like Excel (PowerPivot, Advanced Formulas, Linking to Web and SQL Data), Databricks, Google Drive and QuickBooks Online.

    Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and revenue recognition.

    Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

    Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to collaborate with team members across departments and contribute to a positive work environment.
