Job Title: Lead Title Clerk

Reports To:       Assistant Controller

 JOB PROFILE

Processes and verifies accuracy of vehicle titles and vehicle sales contracts by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Be the lead title clerk for Nissan and Euro title clerks

Title clerks come to the position for concerns processing deals/title work.

Handle all title issues

Calculates and posts to computer accounting system profit amount, sales tax, tire tax, finance reserve, extended warranty, document fee and sales persons commissions for Nissan

Prepares, copies and mails title and car deal documents to customer and/or financial institutions

Disperses titles as they come in

Verifies that required signatures are obtained for financed deals

Submits legal transfer documents to the DMV such as duplicate titles and registration for customers and company service vehicles

Prepares used vehicles stock cards.  Verifies and corrects title work on trade-ins

Trains all new title clerks

Monitors all uglies reports/uglies

Receives and processes paperwork from F&I department

Follows up with Vitu daily in messages

Assists in schedule clean up

Issues payoff checks and sends to financial institution along with appropriate paperwork

Assists customers and financial institutions with any deal related problems.

Backs up each title clerk

Copies and files all paperwork associated with car deal

Backs up cashier when needed

Must get along with others

Corresponds with motor vehicle agencies to clear automobile titles

Obtains title, signs registration documents on cars traded in, verifies and corrects title work on trade-ins.

Requires being at work on time and maintains satisfactory attendance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises 4-6 employees in the Administrative Department. Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; apprising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual must have good interpersonal skills, good communication skills (verbal and written), basic computer knowledge, ability to work well with others, professional appearance, good math and clerical skills, working knowledge of office machines, positive attitude, excellent organization skills. Individual should perform duties with little or no supervision, read and comprehend instructions and information, be able to work weekends and overtime. Individual should be honest, ethical, dependable and a team player.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 months of related experience; or one or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
