    Description
    Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated prep cook to join our culinary team at [Insert Restaurant Name]. As a prep cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling sauces, to support the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Follow recipes and prep lists to accurately prepare and portion ingredients for use in menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and side dishes.
    • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice vegetables and fruits according to established standards and techniques.
    • Portion and season meats, poultry, and seafood for use in various dishes, following portion control guidelines.
    • Prepare and assemble sauces, dressings, and marinades according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
    • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the kitchen, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils.
    • Stock and rotate ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
    • Collaborate with other members of the culinary team, including chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient and timely preparation of menu items.
    • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
    Qualifications:
    • Previous experience as a prep cook or kitchen assistant in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred.
    • Knowledge of basic culinary techniques, including knife skills, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and follow instructions closely.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
    • Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
