    Description


    The Dual Credit Advisor/Recruiter provides individual and small group educational advisement and recruitment services to dual credit students concerning academic degrees, admission, registration, financial aid, and other outreach and support services.

    The Dual Credit Advisor/Recruiter provides all constituents with a student-centered, customer service-friendly experience that supports the institutional mission and goals.

    The Dual Credit Advisor/Recruiter works closely with various offices (on and off campus) and maintains good working relationships with all.

    Will work from office location and will be required to coordinate and/or facilitate on- and off-campus recruitment opportunities.

    The Dual Credit Advisor/Recruiter is expected to exhibit positive energy and high enthusiasm for the vision and mission of the institution and dual credit objectives by being flexible and adaptive in recruiting events and presentations.

    Essential Job Functions

    Serve as liaison between regional high schools and Lamar State College-Orange.

    Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Off Camus Instructional Services to coordinate and implement various recruitment programs and marketing strategies for academic and technical dual credit pathways.

    Create, package, monitor, and distribute resource materials for student recruitment and retention.

    Guide prospective new and current students in the awareness and planning of their educational careers, including the selection of the courses and programs of study.

    Participate and/or facilitate on and off-campus registration and application activities.

    Promote and represent the college at public events, promotional opportunities, marketing campaigns, business and committee meetings, publicity functions, and high school events (e.g., awards ceremonies, and other related occasions).

    Assist in arranging on-site college visits for dual credit students and potential students.
    Assist local district personnel with recruiting for dual credit programs, including parent informational nights.

    Work with the Associate Dean of Off-Campus Instructional Services to coordinate the integration of dual credit programs with student services, academic affairs, and other areas of the college.

    Assist with the creation of collateral for recruiting and information purposes.
    Attend community and parent events for dual enrollment and

    partners.
    Perform other duties as may be assigned.
    Serve on committees as requested.

    Qualifications

    Education
    Experience
    At least one year of advising and/or recruiting experience is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Skills in Microsoft Office applications. Three or more years of customer service experience and proficiency in Banner, Blackboard, Argos, and Excel are preferred.
    Ability to interact cooperatively and productively with staff, faculty, students, and the public. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication, with knowledge of standard, academic English. Strong math/basic algebra skills, ability, and willingness to learn additional math topics. Good organizational skills.

    Comfortable using computers and adept at most common technology functions (email, Internet search, working with electronic files and folders, online databases, etc.).

    Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures and comply with established college policies and regulations.

    Physical Requirement
    Requires constant movement and observation and the operation of computers, audiovisual equipment, and various other instructional and office machines.

    Working Conditions
    Normal office environment. Some evening and Saturday hours are required.

    Security-Sensitive
    This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
