The DIRECTV Chief Data Office organization is seeking a curious, talented, and highly motivated Senior Data Engineer that will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of data solutions to help drive better business decisions through insights and analytics.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting the requirements of various Data Analytic Use Cases and scenarios and defining the needs for enhancements or new data solutions.

Here's what you'll do:

Engage and interact with business leaders, data users, data architects, developers, and platform teams to analyze business data requirements, develop technical solutions, and oversee testing and deployment of the data product or enhancements.

Work with developers and architects to create and develop data integrations and data models (data products) which require synthesizing or anonymizing data.

Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks leveraging python and SQL (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).
Diagnose and solve platform and data issues - perform root cause analysis and apply solutions to prevent re-occurrence.

Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes within Jira and Alation to support the transition from legacy to new data products and perform data quality and data governance checks.

Perform data analysis and profiling, meet with application SME's to understand source data model and translate it to Dimensional model.

What you'll need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent fields and related experience preferred.
Familiarity with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing standard methodologies and practices.
Familiarity with the concepts of data mesh.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems such as Spark, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Presto, PySpark) to query and process data.

Advanced experience with Snowflake or comparable experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Redshift, Big Query).

Experience with SQL, python, and scripting (Experience in Databricks preferred).
Experience in visualization tool such as Tableau, Power BI.
This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States. #LI-Remote

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES:
$116,375 - $211,255

Low (N1): $116,375 - $174,515

Mid (N2): $122,500 - $183,700

High (N3): $134,750 - $202,070

Top (N4): $140,875 - $211,255
