    We are seeking a Data Engineer Director to join our Marketing Analytics Team.

    Focus:

    The Director of Data Solutions you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing data implementation and strategy across all supported clients. You will work closely with senior leadership and business intelligence to provide thought leadership, platform support for client deliverables, and in-house development to refine and grow the technical capacity of the agency. Your primary collaborators will be the Director of Marketing Analytics and the Business Intelligence Director. You will oversee 2+ employees who will support you in your drive to empower others and continue to build and evolve the framework for data-driven decision making. This role will have senior leadership and client engagement needs and requires strong communication and partnership skills.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Act as a thought leader for data strategy, data engineering, data science, and ad tech to nurture and grow the technical capabilities of the analytics team, media team and the agency.
    • Manage a team of technical specialists (engineers, developers, analysts, statisticians, etc.) who are responsible for delivering multiple projects in parallel; set goals and milestones to complete projects to scope.
    • Collaborate with Business Intelligence to assess business questions and problems that require technical solutions; advise on and guide your team to develop against the best approach.
    • Help build a media reporting solution that is standardized across all of our media clients.
    • Create and maintain automated processes that provide direct cost benefit to clients by minimizing or eliminating repetitive tasks across all lines of business.
    • Create and maintain roadmaps, data strategy, operational documentation, and communicate bottom line success measurement to key stakeholders.
    • Promote best practices for data management and work with internal stakeholders to build future-proof processes.
    • Stay up to date with developments across all partner platforms and use this knowledge to inform development of tools and processes that drive value on the bleeding edge.
    • Develop internal training on holistic technical capability and integration for core service offerings.
    • Identify and handle issues proactively and decisively with limited direction and oversight while communicating consistently with executive leadership.

    Working Relationships, Autonomy, and Supervision:

    The Data Engineer Director must interact and collaborate regularly with Business Intelligence, Production, and IT. Some collaboration with senior leadership, clients, and other agency teams will also be required. This position will report to the Director of Analytics.

    Education, Skills, and Experience:

    1. Graduate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
    2. 5+ years of work experience in an advanced data engineering role (DevOps, data science, systems engineering, etc.) largely in a media agency setting or similar.
    3. 5+ years of work experience with design and maintenance of highly scalable, multi-tenant relational and non-relational databases (Google Big Query, Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, etc...)
    4. Experience delivering and maintaining high-quality data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, d3js, etc.).
    • Expert understanding of data mining, dataflow engineering, and large-scale data management and warehousing.
    • Fluency in at least two (more preferred) of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, SQL, R, Java, Scala, Go, Rust.
    • Experience working with MPP platform architectures (Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.).
    • Knowledge of ad tech implementation across channels and user journeys a plus.
    • Understanding of core media and site measurement and analysis tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, campaign managers, ad buying platforms, etc.).
    • Experience working and managing a team in an Agile environment

    • Experience and comfort with interacting across different client teams and levels of management to provide actionable, timely, and effective results.
    • Familiarity with offline and digital media ecosystems with primary focus on digital, including paid search, display, video, and social.
    • Operational understanding of media, social, website, and marketing sales datasets.
