    Job Description


    The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for assisting with the development of reliability based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance.

    The Planner will work directly with the Maintenance Manager and Operations Maintenance Coordinator to build a reliable CMMS system and maintenance team.

    The Planner will work independently and with other plant personnel to optimize preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

    Under general supervision of engineering and maintenance manager who gives work assignments, spot-checks work for accuracy, and reviews completed assignments.

    The Planner may be required to fill in for Maintenance Supervisors in his/her absence. The Planner may be required to fill in for the Maintenance Manager in his/her absence.

    What you will work on:
    Equipment and repair parts data entry and management.
    Predictive and preventive maintenance scheduling.

    Typical tasks:
    utilizing existing software (Maximo), converts manually kept data to the CMMS for data collection
    Develops PM programs for equipment in a form for the CMMC computerized system
    Maintains PM program data on CMMS system computer.
    Maintains equipment information and repair files.
    Planning and coordinating maintenance jobs and projects.
    Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
    Prepare detailed planning package documentation and assemble issue for review packages.
    Interpersonal management skills are required to effectively deal with hourly mechanics and electricians as well as with plant management.
    Managing maintenance data collection and information gathering to more effectively provide the planned maintenance service in future
    Writing purchase requisition for materials and recourses need on planned jobs and projects.
    Adding assets to stores needed to decrease equipment down time and support PM's.
    Documenting department flow processes and following.
    All aspects of vendor relationship (contracts, documentation, policies).
    Tracks KPI's
    Other duties may be assigned.
    Requirements

    Education and Pertinent/Proven Experience
    The minimum requirements for education and experience are listed below. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Associate Degree in a relevant technical field is preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering a plus

    5 Years in Maintenance and /or Production Operations and /or have at least 1 year experience as a maintenance planner or coordinator.

    Ability to build and use maintenance library for repairs.

    Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings, such as safety rules, schematics, blueprints, sketches and diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.

    Ability to work cooperatively with others, confer with co-workers, vendors and contractors who supply materials, equipment and/or services for Maintenance.

    Maintain a high level of self-management and motivation.
    Experience in the operation of an Aluminum Extrusion plant is an asset.
    Computer Skills

    Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.

    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and basic understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is required.
    Experience with Maximo a plus.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, interpret, and produce documents such as safety rules, schematics, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, procedure instructions, and maintenance instructions.

    Ability to communicate orally and written to co-workers and give presentations to supervisors.

    PERSONAL INTERACTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

    Ability to work cooperatively with others, confer with co-workers, management, vendor and contractors who supply materials, equipment and/or services for maintenance and project work.


    REASONING ABILITY
    The individual should have problem solving, troubleshooting, project and job planning skills. The individual needs to be able to evaluate mechanical systems and design for the same. Has the ability to enhance knowledge through additional on-site and off-site instruction.
    Physical Requirements
    The employee must be able to lift and/or move weights in excess of 30 Lbs personally.
    The employee must be able to maneuver in tight places, such as between equipment.
    The employee must be able to climb ladders, step over obstacles, and step on/off machinery.
    Working Environment
    The employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
    The employee may be exposed to heat in excess of 80 degrees and cold less than 40 degrees.
    The employee is exposed to elements of nature, cold, hot, rain, snow, sleet, ice, etc.
    The employee may be exposed to hazardous chemical, smoke, dust, or potentially hazardous or volatile situations.
    The employee may be exposed to noise in excess of 85 decibels.
