    Position Purpose:


    Key responsibilities include supervision of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, financial statement analysis, reconciliations and reporting and ensuring proper accounting of all cash, corporate assets, earned income, fixed assets and marketing funds.

    Works closely with managers throughout Operating Company and corporate financial management. Oversees cashier/cash application, bank reconciliations and vendor billing duties.

    Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

    The Accounting Manager will report to the Vice President of Finance and is based out of our distribution warehouse in Rock Island, IL.

    This is not a remote position.

    Responsibilities may include, but not limited to :

    Supervise associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
    Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process.
    Perform and review financial analysis and account reconciliations.

    Direct activities of teams responsible for general ledger accounting, vendor billing, cash reconciliation, fixed assets and related capital expenditure accounting.

    Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources. Effectively lead team through change.
    Maintain integrity of general ledger Ensure transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment.
    Prepare various reports and complete special projects as required.
    Performs other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related area of study.

    10 Years + Accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment.

    Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills required. Demonstrated ability to positively lead teams through change. Working knowledge and analytical skills to make independent judgments in relation to complex accounting processes and the business. Strong computer and analytical skills - High proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Access.

    Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a high-volume, changing environment. Ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures. Self motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees. Ability to work flexible hours as required.
