- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with CDL-B
- Excellent driving record or any equivalent combination of education and training
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination with controlled substance testing

Bus Driver
Responsible to: Director of Transportation
Qualifications:
required to operate commercial motor vehicle ? Demonstrated skill in driving a large
bus
and random tests for controlled substances and alcohol
to operate a school bus at all times, including emergency situations.
Essential Responsibilities:
may require driving during pre-daylight and dusk periods. Operates vehicle in
compliance with all traffic and safety laws and regulations, exhibiting defensive
driving habits and observing posted speed limits
School students and other authorized personnel to and from schools and school
related events
extra-curricular events which may require driving after dark, as assigned
sharp objects. Reports discipline riders who break posted rules
students are boarding and departing
ventilating equipment provided on the bus for the comfort of passengers before
driving. Identifies needs and arranges for repairs and maintenance
Handles emergency situations by stabilizing situation until assistance can be
obtained. May implement emergency evacuations to include assisting students to
evacuate the bus and provide safe transport
