    job summary:
    Per diem and expenses available Large utility is looking for a Project Civil Engineer in Jackson, MI. This job will provide technical leadership and coordination for civil design and construction activities in natural gas capital projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while managing project scope, contracts, and communication with stakeholders. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm.

    responsibilities:
  • Provide multi-discipline engineering leadership for natural gas capital projects.

  • Support capital upgrade projects for the Metering, Regulation, and Controls department, focusing on city gate, regulator station, and gas analysis building projects.

  • Work within a multidisciplinary project team, including project engineers, project managers, and operations personnel.

  • Regularly update supervisor on project status and risks to scope, quality, cost, and schedule.

  • Tolerate a heavy industrial environment, including loud, hot, and oily locations. Skills:

  • Working knowledge in civil design, including site design, stormwater management, foundation design, etc.

  • Experience coordinating and developing contract documents for engineering and construction services.

  • Familiarity with Civil/Structural codes such as IBC/MBC, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, AWS D1.1, and ASCE 7. Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

  • Professional Engineer certification preferred

  • 5+ years civil project experience
