    The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Gravitational Wave Physics and Multimessenger Astrophysics.

    This position is part of a cluster faculty hire between the Departments of Astronomy and Physics to explore the Universe with Artificial Intelligence.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for a colleague who will advance our understanding of the Cosmos through gravitational wave observations and numerical simulations using AI, machine learning, and data science techniques.

    A Ph.D. in Physics or a related field is required, and applicants must demonstrate creativity and ability to establish an independent research program.

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be expected to:

    • Conduct original research in Gravitational Wave Physics and Multimessenger Astrophysics
    • Teach courses in Physics and Astronomy at the undergraduate and graduate levels
    • Develop and lead new research initiatives and projects

    Requirements

    A Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gravitational wave physics, numerical relativity, and data analysis.

    Salary Range

    $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
