As a Lead Bartender, you will be responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for internal and external guests. In this position, you will also be responsible for assisting the Beverage/Restaurant Manager as well as associates. You will be checking the schedule daily, assisting with liquor control, ensuring the team is in full uniform and have all tools and materials for work. You will also assist in checking supply levels and ordering from purchasing when necessary. The Lead Bartender also has the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations - utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills while balancing multiple competing priorities.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)

1. Deliver internal and external guest service the Nemacolin Way. Goes above and beyond - whether for an associate or guest.

2. Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other employees and co-workers to provide superior guest service.

3. Mixes ingredients - liquors, sodas, water and juices to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while ensuring the rest of the bar team is mixing and serving in a similar fashion.

4. Composes menus and trains staff on standard implementation of drinks to ensure uniformity and excellence of every drink that is served to the guest.

5. Maintain equipment and organization behind the bar to exceed guest service expectations.

6. Trains staff on knowledge of bar operations: including but not limited to - garnishments, cleaning and sanitization measures, collecting money, use of NSR cashiering, ordering supplies for the next day, proper guest engagement, maintaining cash bank and cash drops, ensuring all guests are at least 21 years of age, and having a lighter/cigar cutter while working, etc.

7. Helps with labor and liquor control and ensuring all beverage areas are locked and secured.

8. Assists staff when needed.

•Must be friendly and outgoing.

•Expert level communication skills - proper and professional written and verbal communication skills.

•Must be able to speak English.

•Must have demonstrated knowledge of beverage-making skills and the ability to lead others in a positive and upbeat manner.

•Must be able to work flexible hours - including weekends, nights, and holidays.

•Outstanding time-management skills, with proven ability to accomplish numerous tasks and challenging priorities in an effective and timely manner; demonstrated ability to execute on short-term, deadline-driven tasks daily, as well as excellent communication with staff and guests.

•Ability to hand confidential information with discretion and tact.

•Able to maintain Loss prevention of Nemacolin Resort property.

•Keeps area clean and safe according to the safety policy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

•At least 2-3 years' experience as a bartender in a fast-paced upscale bar.

•Demonstrated ability to lead a team.

•Full knowledge and demonstrated ability to create drinks according to Nemacolin Resort standards.

•Knowledge of and ability to utilize micros and other computer systems.

•Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

•Ability to speak the English language and ability to communicate with guests in the English language fluently.

•Independently initiates, follows-up on, and complete assignments as well as special projects.

•Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

•Strong organizational skills.

•Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks.

•Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.

•Demonstrates interpersonal sound judgment and decision-making skills using discretion when necessary, understanding the potential impact on the department.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of high school diploma, GED or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a bartender required. 1+ years' experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
