Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician. Contributes to a physician's efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide primary and specialized healthcare services to patients.
Perform new patient evaluations and pre- and post-procedure assessments.
Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical assessments.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and infection control protocols.
Coordinate pre- and post-procedure care, including phone follow-ups, medication management, ordering and interpreting pertinent laboratory and imaging studies, and peri-procedural pain management.
