    The Opportunity:

    Mattel is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Walmart Forecasting team based in either El Segundo, CA or Bentonville, AR. This position will be instrumental in supporting both the Sales team and Walmart's Buying and Planning teams in the areas of forecasting, order fulfillment, and planning. This role will report to the Director, Walmart Forecasting.

    What Your Impact Will Be:

    • Lead the team's analytical capabilities – partner with the Sales team to analyze sales trends to improve item level POS projections, inventory projections and order recommendations.
    • Responsible for forecast submission and ensuring all teams are within open to buy constraints
    • Partner closely with Customer Service & Logistics to ensure accurate PO's, optimize fill rate, and improve collaboration between Mattel & Walmart transportation.
    • Lead the planning process across all brands to ensure high in-stocks, optimized inventory to each fulfillment method, and forward looking collaborative plans with Walmart.
    • Drive the execution of our Direct Import business partnering closely with internal partners.
    • Actively participate in internal consensus meetings to present and share understanding of POS demand forecasts, provide key data findings to cross-functional S&OP teams to reach a consensus forecast on a month-to-month basis.
    • Actively lead and participate alongside Mattel sales team in key collaborative forecasting meetings with Walmart Buyers and Replenishment Managers. Present business findings and recommend action plan for the season.
    • Exam processes and tools to identify opportunities for improvement or needs for new processes that will drive efficiencies across the business. Collaborate with internal and external partners to create and maintain automated forecasting tool to for all brands.
    • Train and develop team to meet or exceed role expectations and drive department results.
    • Present business updates monthly or as needed to senior and executive leaders.
    • Lead & run monthly collaborative process with Walmart buyers to align on item level plans and tactics. Includes presenting out results to WM & Mattel leadership.
    Qualifications

    What We're Looking For:

    • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (Mathematics, Finance, Supply Chain or other relevant fields)
    • 7+ years of experience in a retailer facing role required (knowledge of Walmart structure and processes a plus), 5+ years of experience in inventory management or demand planning preferred (CPG experience a plus)
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and drive results through others.
    • Ability to lead and to influence cross-functional teams. Confidence in conclusions from analysis, ability to persuade others of accuracy.
    • Develop resolution to complex problems that frequently require creative solutions.
    • Proven analytical capability and attention to detail in identifying demand trends, seasonality, promotional impact and other demand factors.
    • Extensive experience in analyzing large data sets, blending data from a variety of sources, conducting own analysis and compiling into an effective actionable summarized report to facilitate decision making & strategic planning.
    • Preferred knowledge of demand forecasting tools and cross functional forecasting processes (JDA, Anaplan, Demantra etc.)
    • Solid interpersonal and communication skills – ability to communicate effectively across all organization levels and all functional areas, ability to understand, assess and present viewpoints of others.
    • Sound business judgment – ability to interpret issues and recommend actions to best support Mattel and Walmart goals.
    • Track record of working independently to produce solutions and efficiencies
    • Power user in MS Excel required
    • Up to 20% travel

    The annual base salary range for this position is between $110,400 and $138,000.
    **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
