    Job Description:


    Reporting to the Director of Compensation and Benefits, the Assistant Director for Benefits Administration will be responsible for the management and implementation of all employee benefit programs.


    Duties and Responsibilities:


    Manage all employee benefit programs including but not limited to health, life and long-term disability insurance, state retirement and optional retirement plans and flexible spending accounts.

    Manage open enrollment on an annual basis.

    Meet/onboard new hires (faculty and staff) for benefits orientation.


    Process all new hire paperwork including but not limited to: data entry of new hires in the State's Human Resources/Payroll system; performing quality checks of benefits-related data to ensure accuracy.


    Manage all leave plans for employees including vacation, sick leave, personal leave, compensatory time and other leave benefits provided by collective bargaining agreements.

    Manage the Sick Bank of Non-Unit and MCCC employees.


    Process Notice of Injury reports to be submitted to the State Workers' Compensation Unit Meet with employees separating from state service regarding the termination of their benefits Process employee verification letters/forms.

    Process verifications of employees' Public Service Loan Forgiveness applications.

    Maintain benefits files.

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Job Requirements:


    Bachelor's degree in human resource management, Business, Higher Education or closely related field or equivalent professional level experience in benefits management.

    Three years of experience in the management of benefits programs, preferably within higher education.

    Knowledge of Human Resources Information System required.

    Proficiency in MS Office.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

    Proven ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.


    Additional Information:

    Annual Salary Range:
    $80,000.00-$90,000.00

    Telework schedule available
