    About the Role

    The position of Vice President, Finance is a newly created position reporting directly into the Chief Financial Officer.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and expertise within the global finance organization while partnering cross-functionally with business leaders in more than 20 global locations.

    The role focuses on performing a variety of financial activities including: technical accounting, financial reporting and operational accounting including, but not limited to, process standardization, costing, customer credit decisions and internal control design and implementation.


    Primary responsibilities:


    Partner with the Corporate Controller, Regional Controllers and Subsidiary Controllers to drive impact through operational improvement projects, investment decision support and KPI management.

    Oversee, review and analyze technical accounting matters and associated transactions.

    Create standards processes for transactional accounting to ensure consistency and accuracy.

    Assist internal audit with standardization and rationalization of internal controls across the organization

    Create standardized costing methodologies at manufacturing locations to.

    Collaborate with local controllers and purchasing departments to improve inventory control and reduce the level of inventory on hand in accordance with KPIs established

    Ensure proper inventory costing and identification of excess or obsolete inventory

    Prepare ad hoc and ongoing cost analysis to support margin analysis and sales quoting

    Ensure subsidiaries are complying with corporate policy and have adequate local SOX controls

    Participate in strategic and tactical projects which could include acquisition or other business analyses


    Work in partnership with other colleagues in the Corporate Finance Group including the Corporate Controller, Manager of FP&A, Tax Director, Treasurer and Senior Director of Internal Audit.

    Work with Director of Pricing and local subsidiaries to understand manufacturing costs and establish standards for the purpose of product pricing

    Development of corporate policies and procedures to enhance worldwide conformity and/or internal controls

    Oversee and contribute to due diligence projects related to potential acquisitions


    Partner with the Information Technology Department and operational leader to enhance current information systems and begin planning for new future platforms including experience with a significant global ERP implementation and upgrade projects is beneficial.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA/CMA/CFA or equivalent qualification

    15+ years of experience leading a global finance function for a multi-national organization

    Public Company background strongly preferred

    Experience at an operational and corporate level

    Ability to travel internationally on a fairly regular basis (up to 20%)

    Bilingual or multilingual a plus


    Skills & Abilities:
    Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and partner collaboratively with global functional accounting and finance teams, controllers and accounting managers.

    Proven ability to successfully build relationships with stakeholders across the organizations including but not limited to: operations, sales and purchasing management


    Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information with key concepts that is adapted for audiences to include the Corporate Executive Team and Board of Directors.


    High level of analytical and methodical skills: ability to understand complex topics or projects and break them down into executable components using data.


    Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current best practices, new developments and applicable laws to ensure operational and financial efficiencies.

    Effective and influential written and verbal communication and comfortable presenting at all levels from staff to executives and the board of directors

    A track record of leading cross functional teams in a collaborative, results-driven environment.

    Demonstrates a high level of personal and professional integrity. Possesses a strong work ethic with the ability to take initiative and contribute to a positive team environment.

    This position will primarily be office based but offers some possibility for remote work. This position also requires travel both inside and outside of the United States.
