LOCATION:
Nespelem, WA Basic Functions:
The incumbent of this position, under the supervision of the Senior Court Clerk.
Will be responsible for the office support of the Colville Tribal Court, which includes receptionist, clerical and file clerk duties.
This includes the distribution of mail and faxes. Greet the public in a professional manner.Will discreetly notify staff, if currently occupied when a client is waiting; will give the client information and/or forms or other printed information available as requested, answering and routing calls, recording messages, and providing general Tribal Court information to incoming clients, records pertinent information and route or file necessary.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
Requires High School Diploma or GED 12 months of Office Assistant level experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Requires knowledge of general office practices and proceduresRequires knowledge of modern secretarial practices as required by this positionRequires ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by this positionRequires ability to speak clear, concise, well moderated voice as required by this position Requires ability to understand and apply available guidelines to varied operational requirement and to follow clearly oral and written instructions Requires ability to meet and deal with the public in a pleasant and courteous manner and at times in stressful situations Requires ability to operate equipment associated with the position in a proper manner
Note:
Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance.
