What you'll doAs the Electrical Engineer for Utilimaster (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our Fleet Vehicles & Services facility in Bristol, IN, you will be accountable for partnering cross-functionally to develop electrical, electro-electro-mechanical systems and interfaces for Utilimaster products.

Your primary focus will be communicating your technical vision and ideas concisely, utilizing both visual and verbal methods.

Additionally, the work you will accomplish as Electrical Engineer will be pivotal in the creation of vital manufacturing processes and will directly shape the future of how fleet vehicles are designed, built, and delivered.

It's also worth mentioning that relocation assistance to the Bristol, IN area is available for non-local candidates.

You will also:

Conduct electrical engineering and investigate problems related to Utilimaster products in the areas of wire harnesses, electrical elements, and electro-mechanical interfaces and determine the root causeExtract technical customer requirements from customersConduct design reviews and facilitate communications between departmentsTranslate technical requirements in partnership with manufacturing, quality, and sales Deliver engineering solutions and revisions to other teams within The Shyft Group via component drawings, assembly and installation drawings, and Engineering Change NoticesCreate and maintain design standards and guidelinesRepresent Utilimaster's Engineering Team during customer site visits and pilot reviewsProvide design solutions that exceed customer expectationsPrepare design and technical reviews with OEM partners for system-level engineering issuesEnsure compliance with regulatory standards, lean checklists, and documentation standardsBuild validation plans that distinctly explain customer requirementsStudy schematic and block diagrams and electrical componentsEvaluate bench and vehicle log files for system issuesTake a few minutes to learn more about The Shyft Group, Utilimaster, and Bristol, IN by exploring the Learn More section below.
