    Description

    Summary

    The Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the development and evaluation of sourcing strategies and relationship management processes to optimize Oncor's growth and value delivery strategies either directly or through leading a group of professionals assigned to various categories of sourcing. This is accomplished through project-management of cross functional teams in the processes of targeting, opportunity evaluations, due diligence and implementation of strategic business development initiatives.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    Directly or through others, the incumbent:

    • Leads the development of short-term and long-term sourcing plans and strategies
    • Provides direction and development for sourcing team members. Invest, Value, and Stretch our people.
    • Invest in employee development through active performance management and feedback
    • Develop an inclusive culture that capitalizes on the team's diverse perspectives and talents to achieve results.
    • Model and reward expected behaviors and competencies to drive operational excellence
    • Develops and evaluates relationship structures and governance processes for critical supply and services contracts with respect to strategic fit, business value and risk profiles
    • Leads the execution of sourcing plans and strategies utilizing cross functional teams in due diligence, evaluation, and assessment of operational or financial performance gaps including identification of specific business improvement initiatives
    • Structures contractual and operational aspects of strategic alliance relationships and other business transactions. Create meaningful linkages to ensure effective category strategy alignment.
    • Manages cross functional project teams in the configuration, integration and application of new and existing sourcing arrangements or asset acquisitions
    • Evaluate and document supply base capabilities and identify strategic fit against current and emerging business requirements

    Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or similar technical field required
    • MBA or equivalent experience preferred

    Experience

    • Operational experience in utility asset management, engineering or construction and/or technical product sourcing
    • 7 years experience in procurement and/or sourcing applications preferred
    • Management experience preferred

    Skills

    • Advanced project management skills (certification preferred)
    • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) or equivalent economic valuations
    • Process re-engineering
    • Knowledgeable in Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement best practices and principles
