Travel LPN – Med/Surg (Day Shift) – Memphis, TN (38104)

Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opportunity in Memphis, TN. Join a Level I Trauma Center's busy Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit providing adult and geriatric patient care. This 13-week Travel LPN assignment (day shift) starts March 23, 2026 — a great Tennessee nursing job for experienced LPNs who are IV certified and experienced in large hospital settings.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee (38104) — Memphis healthcare opportunity
Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (5 North M/S) in a Level I Trauma Center
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: March 23, 2026
Shift: Day shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:00)
Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 available)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1230–$1300/week
Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
Unit Size / Census: 48 beds, daily census ~42
Team Nursing: Patient ratio approx. 1:7 with PCC, RN, and interdisciplinary support

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Active, unrestricted LPN or LVN license (must comply with NLC guidelines where applicable) — Tennessee nursing jobs
IV Certification required (firm requirement for Travel LPN Med/Surg roles)
Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) experience; 3+ years preferred
At least one previous travel assignment completed (travel nursing experience preferred)
Experience in a Level I Trauma Center and large hospital environment required
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS as applicable
Epic or Cerner charting experience preferred (clinical documentation experience)
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (strict radius rule for travel assignments)
Pending licenses will not be accepted; all credentials must be current at submission

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit (clinical nursing responsibilities)
Start, manage, and troubleshoot IVs as an IV-certified LPN
Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care accurately in electronic health records (Epic/Cerner)
Perform focused assessments, communicate changes to RNs and providers, and escalate care for acute conditions
Care for patients with cardiac diagnoses (CHF, AMI, post-cath lab care, PPM placements, ablations) and common med/surg cases
Collaborate with RNs, PCCs, and interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes
Participate in team nursing, maintain assigned patient ratios, and support unit flow
Float to similar units as needed and be flexible with weekends/on-call shifts
