    Our Product Management Team is seeking a hybrid Product Manager, Software Defined Radios & Accessories. This position is responsible to define, develop and market tactical wireless networking products.

    The essential duties and responsibilities include:

    Define the products:

    Collect and synthesize information from customers, partners, competitors, and internal organizations such as engineering and business development teams as inputs to product concept development and product planningPerform market analysis for current and future products and technologiesDevelop and refine product strategy and roadmap with clear product positioning and rigorous business case supportPerform technical and business trade-offs of various product concepts and featuresDevelop and manage detailed executable product requirements-based product strategy and roadmapDefine product price target based on market analysis and product positioningDevelop the products:Owner of product's technical and business performanceWorking with program management, engineering, business development and production teams to ensure successful execution of product development and releaseEnsure that products meet all key criteria, such as specified functionality, performance, manufacturability, reliability, marketability, cost targets, and sustainabilityPerform product life-cycle managementMarket the products:Support business development team in marketing product and technologies to potential customers and markets.

    TrellisWare's products target the military, public safety and industrial sectors.

    As the key technical interface with customers, serve as the technology evangelist in promoting innovative mobile ad-hoc networking (MANET) product and technologiesGain deep understanding of customer and market needs and issues, and develop the right solution with the right products to solve customer's problemsSupport product related Bid and Proposal (B&P) effortsWrite whitepapers and proposals to support marketing and B&P effortsDevelops relationships with team members built on trust and respect.


    Education and work experience requirements are:
    Bachelor's degree in electrical or software engineering or related field of study required.

    Master's degree or higher preferredPast product management, product system engineering, or technical management experienceStrong product development background in wireless communication hardware or software is a plusTo be considered for this position, you would need to meet, at a minimum, the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed here:

    Critical thinking in both technical and business domainsQuick learner in both technical and business domainsCapable of both strategic and tactical thinkingGood technical understanding of wireless communication technologies, including PHY, MAC and networking layer technologiesStrong technical understanding of software defined radio (SDR) hardware design, including digital processing and RF designUnderstanding of tactical radio systems (including radio accessories) is required.

    Understanding of competitive landscape of SDR market and user experience of SDRs and accessories is requiredExperience in SDR and accessories life-cycle managementExperience in product cost managementExperience in make/buy decisionsExperience in accessory vendor and supplier managementAbility to explain complex technical information to technical AND non-technical audiences in an accurate but understandable wayStrong presentation and verbal/written communication skillsAbility to collect and synthesize information from domain experts, including external customers and internal experts.

    Understanding requirement management and risk managementAbility to build personal and professional bridges across various organizations and to lead without authorityWorks independently, demonstrates initiative and interacts with a variety of technical and business teams.

    TrellisWare Technologies pays competitively according to the market in an individual's geographic location, in addition to their qualifications and experience.

    The posted range is for individuals located in the San Diego, CA area.

    The pay range for this position is:
    $110-175k, annually.
