Job Title: Medical Assistant

Supervisor: Office Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting physicians with evaluation, management and treatment of patients during office visits and other tasks related to the visits.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist physician with the delivery of patient care management

Obtain and document vital signs

Obtain and document patient history information

Answer and return patient phone calls

Help with scheduling patient appointments

Remove sutures and staples

Application of splints and fitting durable medical equipment

Patient education

Stock and order medical supplies

Clean equipment and patient rooms

Changing biohazard bags and sharps containers per proper protocol

Help schedule and coordinate patient surgeries

Scan documents into electronic health records

Maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly fashion

Attending staff meetings as required

Other duties designated by the supervisor
