    The Opportunity


    Adobe is seeking a Director of Engineering, Adobe Journey Optimizer. Natively built on the industry-leading Adobe Experience Platform, Journey Optimizer manages inbound customer engagement and outbound omnichannel campaigns using real-time insights and AI-driven workflows for millions of customers anytime, anywhere.


    In partnership with Product Management and Design leaders, this Director will lead an engineering team to build and enhance Journey Optimizer, creating systems that meet stringent uptime and latency objectives. They will form strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to drive product vision & roadmap and business strategy. The successful candidate will need to be a technical leader with a passion for development and delivery of technology, with the required emphasis on architectural design and operational excellence.

    What you'll Do

    • Hire, lead, and mentor a diverse team of world-class engineers across the organization in leadership, management, and engineering standards.
    • Collaborate with Product Management to bring AI-based assistive experiences to life; socialize what's possible now or in the near future to inform the roadmap.
    • Create and instill a team culture that focuses on technical excellence and encourages deep engagement with our customers.
    • Handle project scope and risks with data, analytics, and creative problem-solving.
    • Layout a multi-horizon strategy to guide our development efforts based on the latest and greatest in the customer journey management space; iterate on this strategy as the field evolves and new barriers are breached.
    • Create an engineering culture that supports innovation and creativity while delivering high quality products with predictability and reliability.
    • Ensure engineering excellence and rigor in architecture, execution, and delivery.

    What you need to succeed

    • Significant leadership experience (15+ years) in complex software engineering or technology organizations, ideally as a senior leader, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects.
    • Consistent record of leading and managing engineering teams and fostering an innovative and collaborative environment.
    • Self-starter, passion to delight customers, willingness to walk above and beyond.
    • Ambitious and not afraid to tackle unknowns, demonstrating a strong bias toward action.
    • Self-motivated with a desire to mentor a large team and drive the team to accomplish high-quality deliverables.
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, encourage, and empower others.
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical internal stakeholders as well as customers.
    • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field of study.
    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $167,900 -- $327,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

    At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

    In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
