    About the Role:
    Quality Systems

    Manager

    As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to product quality across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Quality Systems Manager to join our Technical Team, based at our site in Caistor.


    Purpose of the role:


    As the Quality Systems Manager, you will champion factory compliance and allow us to demonstrate due diligence in respect of food safety and quality.


    Operating Environment:


    This role will be required to operate within the office and factory environment, which is a cold food production environment.

    Your key responsibilities as Quality Systems Manager will include:


    • Day to day management and development of the site's food safety, quality and regulatory systems.
    Controlling the

    internal audit schedule and verifying completion of any corrective actions.


    • Conducting internal risk assessments, audits and gap analysis ensuring accurate recording and reporting of findings.
    Managing micro site testing/sampling and creating a programme to maintain site compliance.


    Ensuring supplier assurance, internal specifications and HACCP systems are maintained.


    • Overall responsibility for the calibration of measurement devices used by the quality and production teams.
    • Maintaining site document control systems and removal of superseded documents.
    Involvement in maintaining crisis plans for product recall and investigating customer complaints.

    What we are looking for:

    Relevant scientific or food related qualifications. (Degree desirable)


    A practical working knowledge of BRC and retailer requirements.


    Experience working with major retailers including leading audits.


    Intermediate HACCP and Food safety qualifications.


    Internal auditing training.


    Basic understanding of microbiology and potential consequences to food safety and quality.


    Strong attention to detail.


    Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.


    Working Hours:
    Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00.

    There will be some required flexibility during seasonal peaks.
