    Overview

    Support animal research for all entities within the SOM. Studies supported include (but are not limited to) cancer, organ transplant, antibody, ophthalmic, Co vid-19, and flu. Candidates MUST be comfortable with breeding animals for research, and euthanasia. CMS I candidates provide husbandry to laboratory animals, maintain animal inventory records and Animal Husbandry and Room Maintenance Records, and perform facility sanitation in animal facilities. Work schedules are assigned by the Facility Manager or his/her designee for that specific animal facility. This position requires weekend and holiday work hours and involves daily exposure to laboratory animals and their waste products. Candidates will spend the majority of their time working within animal modules - rooms housing animals/cages. Candidates will primarily be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of animals' habitat (cages), and following strict protocols to ensure animals are available for research.

    Hours

    Monday-Friday from 7:00a-3:30p

    Weekends required every 6-8 weeks (candidates MUST be open to working weekends every 6-8 weeks)
