Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator has an understanding of general human resources policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of employment and labor laws. The incumbent demonstrates knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and other computer skills. The incumbent must possess excellent communication and people skills and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The coordinator will need to exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management team.
Responsibilities:
The human resource coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting plant needs.
benefits administration, payroll, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; Maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; coordinates new-employee orientations; processes rejection letters of applicants.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employment records, including personnel files, attendance records and disciplinary files.
Takes minutes for department meeting.
Processes weekly payroll, including gathering timesheets, verifying attendance and addressing payroll/timesheets inquiries.
Assist with tracking of CA lunch penalties and requirements
Processes and tracks all FMLA cases
Maintain schedule and track for annual renewals of First Aid and CPR certifications, Silica, audiometric testing and managing medical files.
Prepare employee paperwork as necessary (orientation packets, handbook, etc.)
Qualifications:
An Associates degree preferred
Two to five years of human resource experience preferred.
Recruiting experience required
Expereince running hourly payroll in California
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail
*The salary range for this position is $23.00-$28.00 per hour.
