    Duties

    This position is located under the Office of Field Operations in Miami, Florida and Tampa, Florida.

    As a Executive Assistant, GS , your typical work assignments may include:


    • Coordinate and perform a variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the field division to include, but not limited to the processing of personnel actions, training coordination, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, office equipment, as well as performance of activities involving a wide variety of processes and methods.
    • Develop administrative processes and procedures to facilitate more efficient and effective operations and providing guidance and assistance to the SAC/DIO.
    • Participate extensively in the management of the field division office to ensure administrative practices and procedures used by field offices are consistent with those of the SAC/DIO and the Bureau.
    • Make travel arrangements, prepares itineraries, and works closely with individuals to be visited on all administrative details.
    • Ensure that the SAC/DIO have the necessary information papers, read-aheads, trip books, speeches, etc., required for trips.


    Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

    This is a non-bargaining unit position.


    MOBILITY PLAN:
    New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. The purpose of ATF's mobility policy is to enhance career development and progression, and achieve mission and business effectiveness.

    To accomplish these objectives, the mobility plan will facilitate the movement of employees through special short-term assignments or permanent reassignments throughout the Bureau.

    Applicants who decline to sign a mobility agreement, as required, will be removed from the hiring process.


    Key Requirements:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
    • Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test.

    Qualifications


    To qualify for the GS , candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-09.


    Additional Conditions of Employment:
    GS-10 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:


    • Perform research, gathering information and preparing reports and correspondence for management; and
    • Analyze office methods and procedures and recommending improvements; and
    • Responding to telephone and written inquiries for information; and
    • Consolidate data using office automation systems; equipment and software.
    Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.


    The Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
