    Drivers Assistant

    Tracking Code Job Description Delivery Driver Assistant. In this role you will be responsible for the homeowners materials reaching the job site correctly and safely. Ride along with the driver and help get the material delivered safely and efficiently.

    At BMC, an outstanding Driver Helper is a dedicated and reliable team player. This entry-level team member is valuable to assisting the driver in loading and unloading all lumber, millwork, windows, and other building materials from the vehicle. All duties of this exceptional individual are to be performed within established safety protocol and procedures.

    **Major Responsibilities:**

    Safely and efficiently loads and unloads building materials onto delivery trucks and on job sites.

    Assists driver in unloading materials safely at job sites.

    Acts as spotter in assisting driver while reversing or navigating in congested areas.

    Assists driver in housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness of truck.

    Secures load and/or assists driver in securing loads before delivery.

    Evaluates job site for hazards before making delivery.

    Performs all job duties adhering to company policies and procedures.

    Communicates with customer to ensure good customer service.

    Open communication with all levels regarding location challenges, solutions and business impacts.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Travel required in this position: 75-100%, majority local.

    Working conditions vary depending on the location and the season.

    Both temperature variations and inclement weather are real aspects of the work environment.

    Must be able to regularly lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance and spend long amounts of time stooping, reaching, bending, climbing, standing or walking.

    Required Skills

    Ability to lift 100 lbs. repetitively.

    Good oral communication skills.

    Required Experience

    Minimum Experience: Experience in warehouse/material handling experience preferred.
