    Who Are We?

    American Augers, located in West Salem, Ohio is a division of The Toro Company. American Augers builds the largest horizontal directional drills in the industry, and a full range of auger boring machines. With the rugged user in mind, American Augers rigs are built to last and backed by 24-hour worldwide support.


    Primary Job Function:
    Direct and manage plant operations with oversight responsibility for production, maintenance, materials, and other production-related activities. Partner with on-site business unit leaders to ensure full alignment on shared goals.

    What Will You Do?

    In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:


    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Oversee and participate in recruitment, hiring, directing, and coaching of plant leaders.

    Implement Management Operating System (MOS) cadence for key deliverables in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash to ensure site commitments deliver against annual operating plan.

    Utilize multi-year strategy deployment for key initiatives, site transformation planning, and annual goal deployment to ensure clear vision and direction is established.

    Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure alignment with talent development framework, succession planning, and individual development plans.

    Administer discipline of employees, adherence to all company policies, and enforce code of conduct.


    Duties/Responsibilities:
    Responsible for all plant operation results including manufacturing, materials, safety, quality, continuous improvement, plant productivity, and plant financials.
    Establish reporting that maintains pulse on safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals.
    Ensure a healthy and safe working environment in compliance with federal and state regulations.
    Leverage regional support resources to establish ISC functional excellence.
    Partner with Regional Managing Director on long-range planning, transfers of work, growth strategies, and implementation of advanced technology.
    Drive deployment of systems to implement Toro Business System (TBS) elements and advance Lean/CI methodologies in the plant to optimize plant efficiency, throughput, and working capital levels
    Partner with Regional support resources in development of strategic plans and annual operating plans.
    Manage deployment of CAPEX in accordance with annual plan, long-range plan, and site transformation roadmap.
    Ensure factory housekeeping and 5S disciplines are excellent in driving organization and efficiency.
    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Required Skills/Abilities:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Excellent organizational and managerial skills
    Plant leadership utilizing a matrix organizational model with regional leaders.
    Proven track record in lean transformation yielding improvement in operating results.
    Strong experience in material flow, scheduling, planning, and materials management.
    Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing.
    Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
    Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.

    What Do You Need?

    To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

    Requires bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline with MBA desired.
    Minimum of seven years plant leadership experience in Manufacturing , Manufacturing Engineering, and/or Supply Chain.
    Certifications in Materials (APICS), Lean, Six Sigma, and Quality (ASQ) are a plus.
    Experience with ERP (SAP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Value Stream Mapping (BVDSand PFEP desired.
