TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Transport Operations Intern working out of our office in Brownsburg, IN.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Transport Operations Intern is a position that will rotate between learning the responsibilities of an Operations Fleet Manager and that of a Customer Service Representative (Load Planner).

You will learn to operate our TMS (Transport Management System) to optimize freight choices, work as a team between departments, fulfil the needs of our customers, and build relationships with drivers with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

As with all internships at TMC, the position is based on education, incorporating real life work, and dealing with day-to-day functions, while gaining insight in the Supply Chain and transportation industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate deliveries with consignees
Assist with data entry
Utilize our advanced software for optimum results
Maximize driver productivity by key performance indicators
Maintain record keeping data for On Time Delivery and On Time Pickup
Build relationships with new customers and maintain existing long term relationships
Determining and negotiating competitive truckload rates
