- Develop a clear and concise site logistics, lifting, hoisting, deliveries, and site access plan.
- Inspect construction activities in accordance with established quality procedures and evaluate compliance with project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and other project-related documents.
- Know, understand and consistently enforce our safety program and OSHA rules.
- Provide technical assistance, e.g. interpretation of drawings, recommended construction methods and equipment, etc. as required.
- Actively coordinate trade and associated installations in advance to mitigate conflicts due to sequencing, constructability, schedule and/or spatial issues.
- Review plans, specifications, general notes, and shop/working drawings for assigned activities before performing assigned duties.
- Promote positive communication among employees and work as a team with project management, QA/QC, and safety coworkers.
- Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
- Help create and sustain a positive company image.
- Assist in effectively training assistants and workers to adhere to policies/procedures, submittals, schedules, contracting, and motivating assistants to uphold core values by leading through example.
- Develop professional relationships with clients and the design team to ensure the project is delivered successfully.
- Ensure all on-site personnel comply with the project procedures.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of time sheets, unit reporting, daily construction reports, and labor projections.
- Ensure work performed follows company policies and procedures.
- Work integrally with the project management team on status reports, and labor and material projections.
- Develop and maintain schedule to ensure coordinated and timely installations. Ensure the schedule is followed or changed if necessary.
- Assist the project management team in the development and implementation of an effective job site communications plan. Communicates often and clearly with the team.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a project superintendent with a construction management-at-risk, hard bid, or design-build contractor, overseeing multiple projects with per project value in excess of $10 million.
- Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects with a commercial general contractor is preferred.
- Experience with self-performing work in excavation, concrete, and finish carpentry.
